The U.S. Military Improved Duffel Bag, often referred to as the IDB, is the standard-issue duffel for the U.S. Armed Forces. It represents a significant upgrade from the older, traditional top-loading "sea bag." Designed for durability and functionality, this bag is a workhorse built to withstand the rigors of deployment, transport, and frequent use. Its versatile carry options make it far more practical for moving heavy gear over various distances. Made from heavy-duty nylon, it is known for its incredible toughness and large carrying capacity.

Key Features

Backpack Straps: The most significant improvement over the old design. The bag features two padded, adjustable shoulder straps, allowing it to be carried like a backpack for hands-free transport over longer distances.

Multiple Carry Handles: In addition to the backpack straps, the bag is equipped with four handles: two nylon web handles that meet in the middle for a traditional suitcase-style carry, and a grab handle at each end for easily pulling it from a vehicle or pile of gear.

Durable Construction: Made from 1000 Denier Cordura® nylon, the bag is highly resistant to abrasion, tears, and scuffs. The material is also water-resistant, protecting contents from light rain and moisture.

External Pocket: A small, zippered pouch on the side of the bag is perfect for storing documents, travel papers, ID, or other small items that require quick access.

Security Features: The main compartment's zipper pulls are designed with eyelets, allowing them to be secured together with a padlock for extra security during transit.
