This freeze dried product is raw and does require cooking after rehydrating. Rehydrate patties as soon as a can is opened. Use enough lukewarm (90-100 F) salted water to cover the meat. Handle patties carefully as they may break easily. Soak for 5-10 minutes or until patties are moistened and fully reconstituted. If any hard spots are felt, soak an additional 5-10 minutes.
These chicken patties are current production over-runs, manufactured in 2025, from a large military defense contractor. We just purchased a large lot of these from a Defense Reutilization Office (DRO) Source.
Although the actual use is always classified on these kinds of bids, our information is that these are purchased for the executive branch use. That usually means that these go to underground bunkers for continuity of government use by strategic military leaders, congressional members and sometimes even the White House staff or leadership.
Each can contains 15 chicken patties, and to use just soak in lukewarm, salted tap water for 5-10 minutes and cook.

They come out of the can looking just like chicken patties would get at your grocer's deli - and there was no shrinkage when we cooked them.
You can expect to get 25+ years out of them in the can - and probably as many as 30 to 40 since there is no water or oxygen in the can to spoil them!!!
Once opened they will last:
up to 1 year in a Zip Lock bag with refrigeration once opened but not re-hydrated
up to 60 days in a zip lock bag without refrigeration once opened, but not re-hydrated.
up to 5 days in the fridge once they are re-hydrated
These are perfect for storing and using for many years! You can open just one can at a time and in 5-10 minutes cook one or as many of these as you want however you would cook any other chicken patty!!! Perfect for camping, boating, traveling, or at the cabin.
Bought one of the defective ones as a fixer upper, and to be honest.. It wasn't that bad! Some material was stuck together Alil bit of Water/vineager mix and cleaning helped the musty smell. Everything else was in tact! Going to be a great tent for the summer solo trips!
